Defeats rival by two wickets; lifts trophy

Srinagar, Dec 27 (KNS): The Langate Premier League (LPM) concluded on Thursday with Langate Cricket Club lifted the trophy by defeating its rival Abdullah Sports Panditpora by two wickets.
The thrilling match that was started in the morning witnessed a huge gathering of locals who cheered for their favourite teams throughout the day.
LCC Langate won the toss and opted to field first. Abdullah Sports Panditpora was restricted to 115 runs in allotted 18 overs. The LCC Langate however won the match in a nail-biting end by two wickets. The match was played at Audoora Qalamabad.
The tournament was organised by former MLA and AIP President Er Rashid along with Khursheed Ahmad Dar, Sheikh Khursheed, Raja Akbar, Irfan Hampori and Advocate Noor ul Shahbaz.
Among others former Director, Radio Kashmir Srinagar Hamayun Qaiser and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir were also present on the occasion.
According to KNS correspondent, the organisers said that nearly 128 teams were participating in the tournament. They added that the winning team was given one lakh rupees as Prize money whereas the runner up team was given thirty thousand rupees.
They said that a cricket-kit was also given to each of the 128 participant teams.
In the end, Mudasir Nabi War of Shirhama Lach was declared Man of the series.
Besides, many media persons including Javid Zargar, Raja Akbar, Bhat Shameem of KNS and others were awarded. (KNS)
