Srinagar, Jul 18 (KNS): The Demolition drive was launched by the Lakes & Waterways Development Authority, through its Enforcement wing in the area Lal Bazar, Kral sangri, Vakeel colony Breine in which on ground floor, one 2nd storey and compound wall demolished / removal which were raised illegally by some miscreants in clear violation of Hon'ble High Court directions. Also one structure was sealed at Kral Sangri hills during the demolition at Lal Bazar there was heavy resentment and manhandling with the demolition team resulting in the injuries of few demolition members about which FIR was lodged in the concerned police station.
In the meanwhile one tripper carrying illegal construction material was also seized and FIR was lodged accordingly in the concerned police station.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of Enforcement wing said that anybody who wants to inform the concerned authorities about encroachments and illegal constructions in their respective areas can also contact Suhail Hussain Reshi, Enforcement Officer (DY. SP), LAWDA.
According to Enforcement Officer at LAWDA, the demolition drive will continue with full vigour to remove all the illegal structures including palatial huts that have come up along the non-permissible zone in the catchment area of Dal Lake.
He said the encroachments are being removed in pursuance to the directions of the High Court, which has called for removal of all the illegal structures from the area. Enforcement officer said legal action was also initiated against the owners of houses and other structures which have come up in violation of the Master Plan in and around the Lake. (KNS)
