Khurshid, Rohella hold public hearing to listen people’s grievances

 JAMMU, Feb 20 (KNS) : Commissioner Secretary Public Works (R&B), Khurshid Ahmad Shah and Secretary Higher Education Department, Talat Parvez Rohella took stock of people’s grievances during a public hearing held here today.

A large number of deputations and individuals from various districts of Jammu province including Udhampur, Ramban, Doda, Poonch and R S Pura attended the camp and highlighted their issues and concerns before the Administrative Secretaries seeking an early redressal to the same.

Speaking to several delegations, Talat Parvez Rohella said that the government has taken various steps to further improve education standards in Jammu and Kashmir. "The objective behind holding these public hearings is to assess and sort out issues of people from every part of the Union Territory", he maintained.

A deputation of Shopkeeper Association Trikuta Complex BC Road Jammu demanded their rehabilitation in view of construction of Flyover.

Another deputation demanded construction of road from Gagra to Bander Astanmarg.

A large number of individuals also highlighted their demands and problems which inter alia included blacktopping of Nashri- Sanasar Road, widening and blacktopping at Sainik Colony, transfer issues in education department and improvement in health and allied facilities.

Besides, the deputations and individuals projected several service related matters and sought an early redressal to the same.

The Administrative Secretaries assured the deputations and individuals that all their genuine issues would be looked into.

Senior officers of concerned departments were present in the programme.
