Kupwara, Nov 07 (KNS): District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir kick starts T-20 Champions Trophy at Galizoo Sports Stadium, organised by the District Administration Kupwara through District Youth Services and Sports department in which 36 teams of the district are participating in the T-20 Champions Trophy during the tournament.
The Chief Guest DistrictDevelopment Commissioner,Kupwara(organizer)was warmly welcomed by the District officers,organising committee headed by Chief Planning Officer, Players and sports lovers at Sports Stadium Galizoo to inaugurates the tournament.
The inaugural match of the tourney was played between DC-11district administration and Citizens Club Kupwara by throwing the ball hitted by the District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir followed by next ball to SSP Kupwara Ch. Shamsheer Husain to inaugurate the T-20 Champions Trophy at Sports Stadium Galizoo, at Zangli, Kupwra.
In his inaugural speech the DDC,Kupwara highlights the importance of sports activities as a part and partial for the overall physical development of the youth to maintain determination, will power, creating balance, team spirit, brotherhood, discipline, and combating future challenges of the life as the sports are learning tactics to live better life style.
The Chief guest impressed upon the Organizing committee to provide minimum facilities to the players during the tournament besides the players should maintain coordination and discipline during the events. At the venue different departments has installed their stalls for provide basic facilities to the visitors and players was inspected by the visiting dignitary to enquire about the available facilities at Galizoo.
The DDC assured that efforts are on to develop the ground as comfortable sports stadium with required best infrastructure, fencing and other facilities for the participants at the venue in near future for this purpose the funds would be raised through available resources assured the participants.
The Dy Director, DYS and Sports Officer, Kupwara presented welcome address and threw light on overall performance report achieved by the department for carried out the sports activities in the district besides projects charter of demands for promotion of sports activities in the district in future.
The Officers of district administration, civil society member’s invitees, President Teachers Forum Mohd. Amin Khan, media fraternity besides sport lovers were present at the venue to witness the inaugural function at Galizoo, Kupwara. (KNS)
