Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNS): National Conference (NC) MLA from Habba Kadal constituency and former chairperson of State Women’s Commission, Shamima Firdous on Saturday expressed shock over the protest, seeking release of apprehended accused in Kathua minor girl’s rape and murder case.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), MLA Habba Kadal said that supporting and protesting the accused has shocked an every individual in the state. “It is unfortunate that the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have been known for raising their voice against any kind of crime without any discrimination of caste, colour and sex were seen protesting against the arrest of the accused,” she said.
She said that it seems that the police was escorting the protesters during their protest.
“In case such acts won’t stop, then it would convey a message that the humanity among JK people doesn’t exist anymore,” she said.
“I appeal to the government especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter and the involved culprit must be dealt with strictly,” she added. (KNS)
