Kashmiri entrepreneur accused Jammu food safety analyst of maligning his brand

Srinagar, Jul 11 (KNS): An Entrepreneur has accused Jammu food Safety Analyst of maligning his brand Image. The Entrepreneur alleged that Food Safety Analyst Jammu demanded bribe to clear his product, which was then tested By Kashmir Food Safety Laboratory, National Laboratories (NABL) and referral laboratories, which are supreme laboratories of India and was passed by the same.

At a time when unemployment has engaged the State, Faizan Mohammad who has earned Management Degree From Amity University Started his venture Of Iodised Salt In 2017 by his own Brand Namely ‘’SAMZAN’’, which is a registered trade Mark as per act, a statement issued to KNS said.

”SAMZAN” has collaborated with Ankur Salt for manufacturing iodized and double fortified salt. Ankur salt is one of the biggest salt refineries in India and they use HI-tech machinery for producing premium quality product without using any harmful chemicals in it.

About the harassment done by Food Analyst Jammu, Faizan said that Food Analyst Jammu is highly incompetent towards his work as 15 different samples analyzed by the analyst and his decision in the report were challenged in 2018-19 and all the 15 samples were sent to referral laboratory and reports from the same revealed that 11 decisions of analyst were wrong (RTI Information).

This scenario clearly indicates that Food Analyst Jammu is not fit for his job ,as it concerns public health and it could not be risked over a person who is least concerned about the responsibility of his job and more after corruption. Despite Food Safety & Standards Authority of India took a serious note of complaint against Food analyst Jammu and directed Food Safety Commissioner J&K to take an appropriate action, he said.

Entrepreneur claims that he had informed the former Commissioner Food Safety namely Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar initiated immediate action and wrote to government that this complaint is serious in nature and administrative/financial/technical inspection should be ordered on Jammu laboratory.

“After this new commissioner had been appointed and then no action was taken regarding the case. It has been put to halt since then. I request the people of J&K to fight back corruption and help me by sharing this news,” Faizan said.

He said the “samples of my product were tested again and again despite reports coming clear, they continuously tried to harass me just for the fact I refused to give money to clear my reports because I was confident regarding my product and reports of NABL and Referral Laboratory also proved the same. I have been forced to go pillar to post unnecessarily from the day I refused to give money, as many people in the department itself are shielding such activities. I would request the commissioner food safety to look into this matter and remove food analyst Jammu as soon as possible.” (KNS)
