Condemns arrest of fifteen persons by police in Arihal Pulwama

Srinagar, Mar 23 (KNS): Strongly condemning the arrest of fifteen persons by police in Arihal Pulwama during nocturnal raids, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that men in uniform are harassing and intimidating the people of Kashmir only to make them surrender. The Indian forces have turned Kashmir into a big jail where they barge into residential houses hence violating ones privacy rights.
Police and other forces have started a new intimidating process in the valley particularly and common people are being harassed on one pretext or the other. Police and forces have started calling people at their camps like it was in nineties and people are being asking unrelated and unnecessary questions thereby causing harassment among the common masses. This is a blatant violation of the fundamental rights of the people guaranteed by every civilized ideology of the world.
Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the ongoing rights violations in the disputed region and appealed the international organizations to take immediate and concrete steps to stop the men in uniform from intimidating the freedom loving Kashmiris.
JKDFP said that the repressive measures taken by the government against people and the resistance leaders is a sheer political vendetta.
Expressing serious concern over the deteriorating condition of the Kashmiri political prisoners including its incarcerated chief, Shabir Shah, JKDFP said that the common charge leveled against the Kashmiri prisoners has been being part of Kashmir’s freedom struggle which is political in nature and nothing else has been proved against them. Despite the fact that prisoners like Shabir Shah are representing aspirations of the majority people of the disputed region, they are denied suitable medical aid in jails. This, the JKDFP said will not deter leaders like Shabir Shah to propagate their political faith so New Delhi must think and act sensibly so that a way out comes out to resolve the long pending Kashmir dispute according to the wishes of the people.
