Kashmir journalists demand restoration of internet services

 Srinagar, Jan 06 (KNS):An interactive session was today held by journalists of Kashmir under the banner of Press Club.

 
All the associations including Kashmir Editors Guild, Kashmir Journalist Union and other unions participated in the interactive session.
 
The journalists univocally demanded restoration of internet services to mediahouses They  shared their experiences about the challenges being faced by them in their reportage.
 
“It is humiliating to access the internet in media facilitation center setup by department of information and Public relations. Giving journalists access to limited internet amounts to ban on media,” speakers said.
 
“This is unprecedented in the history of Kashmir. Even in 90s situation was not this bad. Despite approaching government many times demanding restoration of internet services, nothing was done,” they said.
 
Later media persons protested in the lawns of the Press Club seeking restoration of internet services to the media houses (KNS).
