Oppression strengthens people’s faith in resistance

Srinagar, Nov 10 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has said that Kashmir dispute is a Himalayan fact and New Delhi must shun its stand of ignorance and accept the internationally acknowledged right to self determination of the people of the disputed region.
In a statement issued to KNS, the party spokesperson said that people of Jammu Kashmir are struggling for their genuine right ever since 1947 when the sub-continent was divided on two nation theory. Unfortunately Kashmiri people are suffering at the hands of a country which claims to be the largest democracy. It is the same India which has killed hundreds of thousands of people, maimed them, jailed them and even disappeared them in custody. It is being done to crush a genuine movement of the people however fact on the ground is that people of Kashmir have never given up their demand and are facing every oppression with patience.
Kashmiri people have been taught by the leaders like incarcerated JKDFP chief Shabir Shah to remain steadfast and not to surrender their political rights before military might. That is why New Delhi jailed Shabir Shah and tried to make Kashmiri people leaderless. This has no doubt led to a political anarchy however the people of Kashmir have been following the path of resistance giving tough times to the oppressor and its collaborators.
The stubbornness and obduracy of India has resulted in the ongoing bloodshed and hardly any day passes in Kashmir without killings. This has hurt the people badly however at the same time strengthened their faith in resistance.
The JKDFP Spokesperson paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed Liaqat Ahmad of Bellow and Shaheed Wajid ul Islam of Babehar in Pulwama who were martyred by government forces at Tikken village during a gunfight. He said that it is our collective responsibility to take the mission of martyrs forward so that their sacrifices are safeguarded. (KNS)
