Srinagar, Jun 25 (KNS): The Kashmir province under 25 Chess Championship 2019 concluded on Tuesday at TRC Cricket Hut Dalgate Srinagar.

The championship was sponsored by J&K State Sports Council. Farooq Ahmad Dhar veteran chess player of the J&K State, Manzoor Ahmad (Chairman) Kong Posh Public School were guest of honour on opening ceremony.

A spokesperson in a statement said the first three players from Kashmir Valley will represent J&K state national under 25 chess championship 2019 to be held at Jammu from 01-08-2019 to 07-08-2019.

Nadeem Hussain from Budgam bagged 1st position, Burhan Ahmad from Srinagar secured 2nd position, Jasim Ahmad from Srinagar secured 3rd position, Masifa Ishaq from Anantnag secured 4th position, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik from Budgam secured 5th position.

It was first time that All J&K Chess Association has organized separate chess championship for under 25 category in Kashmir valley. (KNS)
