Asks Govt. to focus on community’s healthcare, educational facilities while implementing Tribal Development Plan

Srinagar, Feb 18 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has expressed serious concern over government’s non- serious approach for the upliftment and overall development of the Scheduled Tribes (STs) scattered across the Jammu and Kashmir state.
Kadfeen in a statement said that the ST population in various districts of the state is living in squalid conditions, eking out the living by through hard Labour amid tumultuous times. He underscored the need of a special focus to the educational and livelihood opportunities for the tribal population while the government implements the Tribal Development Plan in the state.
He added that Eklaviya Schools are facing the official neglect and construction on various such projects is going on at snail’s pace.
Kadfeen added that there is a need that government provides special attention to the tribal population of the state provide quality education to the children of this community. He also expressed serious concern over the water scarcity taking a toll especially in the foothill areas and most of the villages of Kashmir Valley at present and also underlined the need for proper medical care facilities for the far flung areas of the state. The Congress leader termed the need of proper health care facilities for the people living in tribal areas need of the hour and said the ignoring the community without a remorse will have grave consequences.
