KCSDS condemns Guv’s admin for booking JRL leaders

Srinagar, Dec 23 (KNS): Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies (KCSDS), the prominent civil society group of Kashmir, strongly condemns the Governor Malik’s administration for booking Joint Resistance leaders and activists led by Mohammad Yaseen Malik & others under section 307 of RPC (attempt to murder) and other draconian sections normally meant for hardened criminals for leading a peaceful march against the unabated civilian killings in Kashmir in General & South Kashmir in particular.
In a statement issued to KNS, KCSDS said that the peaceful march to army cantonment at Badami Bagh was to impress upon the Indian army to kill all people of Kashmir in one go instead of eliminating them through an incremental genocide.
KCSD also appeals the UN secretary general to fully jettison the inertia and shun the spectatorial approach to the genocidal pogrom adopted by India in the disputed territory of Jammu & Kashmir. It, however notes with satisfaction the recent passing of resolutions by United Nations General assembly (UNGA) upholding the right of self-determination by people of occupied territories and also ‘UN special rapporteur on freedom of opinion & expression’ David Kaye writing to ‘Twitter’ CEO to let him know the details of Indian requests to block Twitter accounts from Kashmir. But obviously more needs to be done to stop the Indian monster from completely annihilating people of Kashmir physically, economically & culturally.
India, being a signatory to UN convention on genocide, needs to be warned of her responsibilities under the covenants of the convention. KCSDS would like to remind her that while labouring under the delusion of grandeur, India may think that it is growing big & big to be out of reach of the world. But it would like to remind her that lengthening shadows means a sunset is around the corner.” (KNS)
