Saurabh Gaur Asked DC to Submit Proposal for Transforming B'la into e-Distrct

Baramulla, 06 August (KNS): Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Technology Saurabh Garu, who is the central Prabhari Officer for Baramulla district under the centrally sponsored 'Aspirational Districts Programme' today reviews the progress cum performance of Baramulla district in different indicators identified under the said Programme through video conferencing.

On the ocassion, District Development Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo briefed about the progress cum performance in the identified sectors viz Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Basic Infrastructure. He presented a detailed information about these indicators and said that district has recorded remarkable achievements in several sectors. DC also appraised the Prabhari Officer about various issues and demands which includes funding under the programme by the identified CPSEs. Moreover, DC sought his personal intervention in addressing certain impediments pertaining to health, nutrition and education sectors.

Expressing satisfaction over the performance, the Joint Secretary appreciates the district administration headed by the DC and stressed for working with more dedication and synergy. He exhorted upon the officers to achieve saturation in all performance indicators besides assuring every possible support from the union government. He also assured that all the bottlenecks shall be sorted out in a time bound manner.

Meanwhile, the Joint Secretary directed the DC to submit proposal to the concerned ministry for transformation of Baramulla district into e-Distrct adding that such a move will help in better and prompt public service delivery. He also emphasised to integrate the Sopore and Baramulla fruit Mundis with the rest of the mundis of the country through e-NAM initiative.(KNS)
