Says dept fails to upgrade health facilities in border areas

Poonch, Jan 17 (KNS): Lashing out at the PDP-BJP Government for failure in bringing necessary up-gradation in health infrastructure in border areas, Youth National Conference today expressed grave concern over poor Medicare facilities in Poonch district.
Interacting with various deputations, Youth National Conference Provincial President, Jammu Ajaz Jan said neglect of this vital sector speaks volumes about the insensitivity and irresponsibility of the government.
The deputations comprised people from different remote areas of the district.
Ajaz Jan said poor diagnostic facilities and shortage of medicines has hit the entire district with the people feeling to have been left in lurch.
"Shortage of doctors and para medical staff in health institutions across the district is yet another misery that has been taking toll on health department functioning " Jan said adding that a poor people living in far flung areas were worst sufferers.
Jan also accused the coalition government of step motherly treatment with health sector in Poonch district and cautioned against testing the patience of the people.
Youth National Conference Provincial President questioned the tall claims of the state government with regard providing best possible facilities for people living along border and said the scenario is quite dismal.
Referring to lack of infrastructure and other facilities, Jan said that recently a boy got injured in Qasba village but the ambulance stationed at local health institution was not in a position to ply on roads due to absence of tyres. This being the situation, one can visualize the pitiable condition of the people.
He further castigated government for making false promise of proving bullet proof ambulances in border areas, saying thus is yet another hoax. (KNS)
