Poonch, Apr 23 (KNS): Youth National Conference Provincial President and former MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan on Monday expressed anguish over the callous approach of the PDP-BJP coalition towards border victims, saying its insensitivity came to fore when a young political worker, injured in mine blast, was denied airlifting for specialized treatment in Jammu.
In a statement issued to KNS, Ajaz Jan said that one Abdul Ghani resident of Khari Karmara, a National Conference activist, sustained severe injuries when he inadvertently and accidentally stepped over a land mine in Khari Karmara area of Poonch and got severely injured.
"Shifted to District Hospital Poonch with serious injuries, he was advised to be immediately rushed to GMC Jammu for which the District Administration requisitioned a helicopter”, Jan said, adding that despite long wait the chopper was not sent.
He said in the wake of failure in sending the chopper for airlifting injured, the victim was operated upon in Poonch, as an emergency measure, thus putting his life to jeopardy.
He assailed the Government's policy towards border victims and said that border dwellers were feeling let down and betrayed by the insensitive coalition government.
Jan also prays for early recovery of the victim. (KNS)
