Seeks enrollment of schools with deptt for availing state, central schemes under service sector

Srinagar, Dec 13 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Joint Coordination Committee of Private Schools (JKJCCPS) called on Directorate of Industries and Commerce at its head office at Sanatgar Bemina to apprise the officers of the services provided by the private schools and urged them to facilitate the processing of financial schemes for up-gradation of school infrastructure.
The JKJCCPS delegation was led by its President Showkat M Chowdhary and who was accompanied by Executive Committee Members.
During the meeting, Showkat M Chowdhary informed the officers of the department that private schools are making untiring efforts in improving the standard of education system of the state so that students not only compete at national but at international level and excel in their respective fields.
Chowdhary also took the attention of officers towards the central government’s decision to take school sector at par with other service sector which are availing state and central government schemes from Industries and Commerce department for the up-gradation of their infrastructure.
Under the schemes, service sector units are provided 100 percent subsidy on the purchase of generators and 25 per cent subsidy on the up-gradation of lab, laboratory and Information Technology infrastructure.
Chowdhary said Private Schools are education services sectors which needed the support from the government through such schemes for the benefit of the students and also to improve the standard of the education system in the State.
The officers at the department urged the delegation that the schools should register their units with the industries and commerce department for availing such schemes.
JKJCCPS President informed the officer that they would apprise all the schools to register their schools with the department as service sector units and avail such schemes.
JKJCCP has also urged its members to visit its office at Radio Colony for any further clarification and for any assistance in registration of their schools with the department. The schools can also register at www.investjk.in, www.udyogjk.com. (KNS)
