Srinagar, Oct 17 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Editors forum (JKEF) highly condemned forces action on reporters, video journalists and photographers at the gunfight site in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar while performing their professional duties. Forces even fired shots in the air to scare them away from the gunfight site which total against professionalism shown by the forces.
It is pertinent to mention in the Fateh Kadal encounter three militants, a civilian and a policeman were killed in overnight gun battle.
JKEF urged Govt to ensure safety and protection of media persons working in Kashmir, adding that it is their constitutional and moral duty to provide a conducive environment for media persons.
JKEF strongly condemning the incident calls for a strong action against those who were involved in the act. (KNS)
