38 youth trained for entrepreneurship at Ganderbal

Pampore, Jun 21 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Thursday conducted an Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) at Beerwah, Budgam in which more than 80 people participated.
The awareness program was held in collaboration with the Block Development Office, Beerwah. Block Development Officer, Beerwah, Mr. Zahid Hussain was also present on the occasion. The program was intended to provide the participants an insight into the world of entrepreneurship and make them aware of different government schemes available to help the educated unemployed youth earn their livelihood.
The EAP was part of the special series of awareness programs being conducted by the JKEDI in remote pockets of district Budgam so that the youth are made aware of the beneficial schemes of the State and Central government regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Earlier, the institute has been conducting special awareness programs for college students of Budgam District so that institute plays a more proactive role to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship development in the State. JKEDI through its awareness programs intends to reach out to the talented youth of Jammu and Kashmir and provide them a platform where they can succeed collectively.
In the EAP the participants were acquainted with the realities of labour market in the State along with the scope of entrepreneurship development/self employment in various sectors of the State economy.
Meanwhile, 38 candidates completed their 3-week training program at JKEDI District Centre, Ganderbal today. The program was held at ITI, Ganderbal under Himayat Self Employment Scheme (HSES) to enable them to earn their livelihood. (KNS)
