Pays rich tributes to great sacrifice of Bulla

Srinagar, Feb 14 (KNS): The Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has paid rich and glowing tributes to the great sacrifice of Shaheed Ghulam Muhammad Bulla, who was tortured to death in the Central Jail Srinagar on 15 February, 1975 for braving the Indra-Abdullah Accord 1975 and to uphold the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
On February 11, Bulla registered strong protest against the infamous Indra-Abdullah accord in Sopore Chowk. On the same day he was arrested and severely tortured. He was immediately shifted to Srinagar Central jail. Bulla’s woes did not end in the jail as well. The torture continued and Bulla fell seriously ill. Instead of providing Medicare to him, the jail authorities perpetually tortured him. Finally, the incessant torture proved fatal and Bulla succumbed on February 15.
A JKDFP statement said that Shaheed Bulla was a brave young Kashmiri, and remained committed to the cause of Kashmir’s freedom to the end of his short life.
It was after his martyrdom that the youths of Kashmir ventured their indigenous enduring, which bore fruits in the next two decades. His day of martyrdom is remembered every year and people pay tribute to the martyr of freedom proving that people of Kashmir have not given up their demand for political rights.
A native of north Kashmir’s Sopore, Ghulam Muhammad Bulla has a credit to resent what he called the occupation of Kashmir by Indian troops soon after 1947. Besides many frontline pro-freedom leaders, Shaheed Bulla had associations with Shaheed S Hamid and incarcerated JKDFP chief, Shabir Ahmad Shah. (KNS)
