JKASC hails Muzamil, Suhail for winning college road race

Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Adventure Sports Club (JKASC) has hailed its members Muzamil Hussain and Suhail Nisar for finishing first and second respectively in the annual college road race of 4 kilometers from Nishat Garden to Duk Park.

Both Muzammil and Suhail has retained first two positions of the college road race which they also claimed last year and also improved their previous timings.

The road race was organised by Islamia College in which 120 students participated. Notably, Muzamil and Suhail are the consistent performers associated with the J&KASC.

Muzammil Hussain of B. Com 5th Semester covered the distance of 5.25 kilometers in a record time of 14:36.02 minutes to finish first in the Annual College Road Race event for the year 2019. Last year, he had clocked the same distance in 14.50 minutes thus improving his and colleges’ previous best timing.

In order to make their timings better, J&KASC has facilitated cardio for both the athletes at Muscle Studio Gym and Spa Rainawari where they are coached by certified trainer Shabir Ahmed. The duo are also being trained under the tutelage of certified athletic coach Mir Tahir in improving their overall performances in the road races.

JKASC will also facilitate the top athletes with running shoes and other gear for their impressive performances.

JKASC has been nurturing the young and budding athletes with various training programmes. Earlier also another top athlete Hamid Aziz made a remarkable record of ultra run from Kargil to Srinagar in two days which was first of its kind. (KNS)
