JKAACL pays rich tributes to Prof. Sewa Singh

Srinagar, Jul 30 (KNS): Rich tributes were paid to eminent Punjabi, Urdu and English writer, Prof. Sewa Singh, who passed away some time back.

Function was orgnised by J&K Cultural Academy at its Headquarters, Lal Mandi, Srinagar which was presided over by prolific writer Sardar Kanwal Kashmiri, while Prof. Gurcharan Singh, Sardar Jagmohan Singh Raina, President Punjabi Sahit Sabha Sardar Ajit Singh Mastana and Chief Editor JKAACL M. Ashraf Tak were also in the presidium.

Presenting his welcome address M. Ashraf Tak described Prof. Sewa Singh a prolific writer who authored more than 24 books in Punjabi, Urdu and English Languages which include History of Punjabi in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sardar Rattan Singh Kanwal and Prof. Ajit Singh Mastana presented two papers covering life and contribution of Prof. Sewa Singh. Sardar Kanwal Singh in his presidential address paid rich tributes to Prof. Sewa Singh who was torch bearer of various literary movements.

A number of writers and admirers of Prof. Sewa Singh were present on the occasion. Proceedings of the function were conducted by Salim Salik, Editor Urdu. (KNS)
