Srinagar, Sep 20 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir High Court lawyer has sent a legal notice to Dean Academics Kashmir University for “failing” to release salaries of contractual lecturers of the varsity.
According to the legal notice under number 133/AM/2018, dated 17-9-18, a copy of which lies with Kashmir News Service (KNS), Advocate Aamir Masoodi said that “whereas, my clients were working as lectures on contractual basis from Augusts 2017 to February 2018 in various departments of your university South campus but till date you have not deliberately released their salary for the month of January and February 2018.”
“Whereas, the University of Kashmir has issued extension order with regard to 21 clients for working as contractual workers for the month of January and February 2018,” Advocate Aamir Masoodi said.
The copy reads that “whereas, you have not executed the extension ode issued by Registrar University of Kashmir which clearly shows your unprofessional, unprincipled and indecorous behaviour on your part as persuaded.”
“Whereas, the 21 contractual lecturers referred as my clients approached your office number of times with the submissive and humble requests but you paid no heed to them,” the legal notice reads.
It added that “you have no locus/authority to retain the experience certificate and salary of the contractual lecturers for the month of January and February 2018.”
The legal notice further reads that “in view of the above mentioned facts and circumstances of the case, I advise you to release the salary and issue experience certificate in favour of the 21 contractual lecturers, falling which, I am competent to initiate a civil/criminal proceedings against you in the court of law at your own risk and responsibility.” (KNS)
