Srinagar, Apr 26 (KNS): A day after the rifle snatching incident took place in Srinagar outskirts and a cop ‘deserted’ the force along with his service rifle, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Range, Swayam Prakash Pani on Thursday said that the investigations over both the cases are going on in full swing.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the workshop here at Police Headquarters complex in Humhama Srinagar, the IGP according to the KNS correspondent said that the investigations over both the incidents have been stared and those involved in it will face the law.
Asked about identity of the militant group who decamped with four rifles in Srinagar outskirts on Wednesday night, Pani said that it is too early to comment over the issue. “We have started investigation into the case, which is in full swing. We have also apprehended three persons in Awantipora Pampore yesterday; one among them was caught with a weapon. Their intention was to carry out rifle snatching incidents,” he said.
He further told reporters that “once the investigation will be over, then we will be able to comment over the issues.” (KNS)
