MeT predicts pleasant weather from Sat

Srinagar, Mar 02 (KNS): The intermittent rains lashed the plains while the higher reaches received a fresh snowfall since the intervening night of Thursday-Friday.
Director Meteorological department, Sonum Lotus told KNS that the weather would remain pleasant for the next upcoming days.
He, however said that there is possibility of light rains at isolated places as well.
He said that as of now, they are predicting pleasant weather for next two or three days.
Lotus also said that the maximum temperature would increase gradually while the minimum temperature may go down by one or two degree Celsius.
Meanwhile, following the intermittent rainfall, the Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only road connecting Valley with rest of the country was suspended for the vehicular movement for several hours.
Official spokesman of the Traffic Police told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the Srinagar-Jammu road was closed in the wee hours of this morning after the landslides occur due to the fresh wet spell.
He said that the road was cleared and the traffic was allowed to ply towards their destinations in this afternoon.
Meanwhile, according to KNS correspondent, Peerzada Aadil Syed, the authorities suspended the vehicular movement on Kupwara-Karnah road after the fresh higher reaches in the area received fresh snowfall.
Officials said that the road was closed as precautionary measure. (KNS)
