Demands immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission to teachers

Srinagar, Aug 23 (KNS): An emergency meeting of Teachers Joint Action Committee was held at Srinagar under the chair of President EJAC, Chairman Teachers Joint Action Committee Ab Qayoom Wani.
In the meeting all the leaders condemned the police lathicharge and on innocent teachers on the day of Eid, who were raising their voice in favour of their demands in a democratic way.
Qayoom Wani demanded probe into the incident and urged upon the Govt. that instead of using pressure tactics Govt. Should realize the sensitivity of the issue and should take appropriate measures for implementing 7th Pay Commission in favour of SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector at an earliest.
EJAC president showed sympathy with the injured teachers and assured the teaching fraternity that Teachers Joint Action Committee will continue its struggle in a proper way to get the legitimate demands of Teachers redressed.
Wani said that Teachers under the banner of Teachers Joint Action Committee are in continuous struggle from last 4 months, held mega demonstrations and peaceful protests and during the peaceful candle light march on 17th August have already announced indefinite hunger strike Program to be held from 30th August at Pratap Park Srinagar and at Provincial Headquarter Jammu.
There will be no change in the program and the leaders of TJAC have been asked to gear up their cadre at Zonal, district, Provincial and State level to make the indefinite hunger strike program successful.
In the meeting all the leaders urged upon new Governor of the state Satya Pal Malik, Advisor to Governor Khursheed Ahmad Ganie, Advisor B. B. Vyas, Chief Secretary B.V Subramanium, Secretary School Education Rigzin Sampheal to feel the pain of the nation builders by redressing their legitimate right of 7th Pay Commission to SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA Masters and linking of their salaries with State sector so that chaos and confusion caused among the teaching community by delay delaying Tactics may end.
Wani said that putting teaching community into trouble will yield negative impacts on the academics of the future generation.
He said that TJAC has decided to continue agitation if Government failed to redress the grievances of teaching fraternity upto 29th August.
Wani asked the teaching fraternity to be united and to follow all the leaders and programs of joint platform in all the three regions of the state.
Wani assured the teaching fraternity that TJAC will explore all the options to intensify its struggle till demands are not redressed.
EJAC president Wani urged upon the leadership of TJAC to arrange joint meetings at Zonal, district, Provincial and state level for the larger interest of the community to yield better results. All the leaders of TJAC were present in the meeting. (KNS)
