Jammu, Feb 20 (KNS): Director General of police Dilbag Singh today visited Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur where he addressed Darbar of trainees and interacted with the officers. DGP reviewed different facilities being provided to the trainees.
DGP in his address impressed upon the officers and other personnel to be prepared for the future contingencies and said that we need to put all resources to use to create a secure environment in the state. He said that Pakistan sponsored terrorists are making attempts to disrupt the peace and order in the state but like past their attempts are bound to fail.
While addressing the trainees, the DGP emphasized upon them to have proactive approach to their training and be focused keeping in mind the organizational goals. He said training of mind, soul and body is holistic achievements of the training goals. He exhorted upon the trainees to be prepared for all eventualities they might face after the training. He directed the training staff to sensitize the trainees for their role after the training and added that they must be trained keeping in view multiple challenges the force is facing in the state. “We must learn from Pulwama incident and be resilient in our approach” DGP advised the trainees.
DGP impressed upon the trainees to increase the level of patience and competence while dealing with different situations and said that they always need to be motivated physically and mentally. He said that as responsible members of force we need to strike balance between family and professional life.
DGP advised the trainees to develop their interest in IT and computers for achievements in smart policing goals. He said that we have to excel in different fields of policing to provide better services to the people. DGP later reviewed different facilities being provided to the trainees in the academy.
The DGP was briefed about the functioning of the academy by the Director SKPA, M. Sulaiman Salaria. He informed that the batches are in advance stage of training. He also highlighted the requirements of the academy.
Besides, Director SKPA, Udhampur, M. Sulaiman Salaria, DIG Udhampur/Reasi Range, Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur, Pande Rajiv Omprakash, other senior officers of SKPA Udhampur and 700 trainees attended the darbar at SKPA Udhampur.
Later on, the DGP J&K Dilbag Singh also chaired a meeting wherein the overall security, law and order and working of police against the crime was reviewed. The meeting was attended by DIG Reasi/Udhampur range, SSP Udhampur and all Gazetted and jurisdiction officers of district police Udhampur. (KNS)
