Srinagar, Feb 17 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) again reiterated that resolution of long pending Kashmir dispute is imperative to end the hostilities between Indian and Pakistan and ensure the stability of South Asian region.
In a statement issued to KNS, Secretary General of JKDFP Moulana Mohammad Abdullah Tari said that Party’s incarcerated chief Shabir Ahmad Shah has been advocating throughout his political career that if disputes are to be resolved animosity has to be shun.
“Hostility has to be avoided if New Delhi is interested in resolving the dispute,” Moulana Tari said adding “that will create an atmosphere to start a purposeful dialogue to resolve the dispute.” He stressed that Kashmiri people are peace loving and the stability of the whole subcontinent is linked to peace in Kashmir.
JKDFP secretary general impressed upon New Delhi to change its stance vis-à-vis Kashmir so that an atmosphere is created which can lead to prosperity. He said that jailing political leaders like Shabir Ahmad Shah has yielded nothing in past and it is sure to prove a failure even today. So India must release political leaders and allow their activities to pave way for a political resolution. Stubbornness has impacted negatively and will continue to harm not only Kashmiri people but Indian nation as well which is desperately fighting for a regular membership at UNSC. (KNS)
