Srinagar, Nov 08 (KNS): Central government appointed interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma Wednesday said he would try his best to meet Hurriyat.
After meeting legislators M Y Tarigami, Hakeem Yasin and former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir at Tarigami’s residence, Sharma told media persons that his meeting with different delegations was very good. “I wish peace returns and political solution also comes,” he said.
Sharma will be travelling to Jammu tomorrow where he will hold talks with Governor N N Vohra, the chief minister and various delegations. He was appointed the Centre's special representative on October 23 in a fresh bid for lasting peace.
Meanwhile, Sharma today concluded his three-day visit to Kashmir Valley and will be travelling to Jammu tomorrow for the next two days, as part of his 5-day State visit.
During the last three days here since his arrival on Monday, Sharma met around 65 delegations which comprised NGOs, Trade Associations, Widows Unions, and other lesser known organizations and parties. However, well known Trade and Business Bodies stayed away from meeting him. The Hurriyat considered a key party, also denied to meet Sharma, who has been sent here by the GoI to renew the fresh dialogue process.
On the third-day here in the valley, Sharma met the leaders of Opposition mainstream parties which included former CM and vice president Omar Abdullah, Pradesh Congress Committee delegation led by its President G A Mir. Other Congress leaders who were part of the delegation are Taj Mohiuddin, Peerzada Sayed, Haji Rashid Dar and Usman Majeed.
Sharma met a group of ruling PDP leaders led by Sartaj Madni, who is Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti 's maternal uncle, at Hari Niwas.
Earlier, Sharma met CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami, MLA Khan Sahab Hakeem Yasin, former minister Ghulam Hassan Mir at Tarigami’s Gupkar residence.
Later in the afternoon, the legislator from north Kashmir’s Langate, Er Rasheed met Sharma at Hari Niwas. Rashid, said, he told Sharma that there is no alternative to plebiscite and it hardly matters who rules the state.
“I made it clear to Sharma that without including Pakistan and militant leadership in the talks nothing can be achieved,” Er Rashid added.
A delegation of Janta Dal United J&K delegation led by its State President G.M Shaheen met Sharma and discussing some major issues and problems faced by common people of Kashmir valley.
Sharma will be leaving for Jammu tomorrow for the last two days of his five-day maiden tour to J&K as the special representative of GoI to J&K. He is expected to meet Governor N N Vohra, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and various other delegations. (KNS)
