Srinagar, Nov 23 (KNS): It was less than a year of their marriage that Sajad Ahmed Khan S/O Miskeen Khan R/O Puthwari killed his wife after an argument on some domestic issue.
Handwara Police has arrested the accused and a FIR No 72/2017 US 302 RPC is lodged into the matter.
While speaking to KNS correspondent, Raja Akbar, SDPO Handwara Shabir Khan said, "Few days back a lady died under mysterious circumstances and we started proceedings under section 174 CrPC. After getting some clues it surfaced that prima facie it was a murder so we converted inquest proceedings into an FIR under murder. It surfaced that she was killed by her husband. We have arrested him."
When asked about post mortem of the dead body he said, "Yes we have written to DC Kupwara for exhumation of the body. I assure that investigation would be concluded on merits in minimum possible time as the crime is related to woman".
Meanwhile people of the area have appreciated the swift action of Handwara Police under command of SSP Handwara Gulam Jeelani Wani. (KNS)
