Condemn summoning of Kashmiri Journalist by NIA to New Delhi

Srinagar, Jul 16 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) and Awami Action Committee (AAC), paid rich tributes to late Tariq Ahmed Buch, uncle and private secretary to APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, on his first death anniversary.
Recalling his association with APHC and AAC as a close aide of Mirwaiz the statement said that he was greatly committed to his work and his death has been a loss to both the organisations and to the chairman personally.
Late Tariq sb was a great believer and supporter of the peoples freedom movement.
The deceased Tariq was the son of Khawja Ghulam Hassan Buch, who was also a close aide of Muhajir-e-milat and Mufasir-e-Quran, Moulana Muhammad Yosuf Shah (RA), who remained in the forefront of spreading the message of the then Muslim Conference to nook and corner of Kashmir.
The statement said that the death of Tariq created a void in the APHC and AAC which is difficult to fill as he continued to work for the party till his last breath. He was a noble soul and extremely helpful and kind to people.
Meanwhile, APHC spokesman expressed grief over the death of seven tourists and injuries to over 50 people in an incident at tourist resort of Sayar Baba waterfall and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families. The incident happened due to the sudden fall of a big rock on the tourists who were having bath in the waterfall on Sunday. The spokesman paid for the speedy recovery of the injured in the incident.
The spokesman strongly condemned the summoning of credited Kashmiri Journalist Auqib Javaid by NIA to New Delhi stating that these ploys are aimed to instill fear among the journalist fraternity to prevent them from doing their job impartially and deserves condemnation. The spokesman said that earlier also, NIA summoned resistance leaders and others to New Delhi on the pretext of questioning and later placed them behind the bars eventually shifting them to the infamous Tihar Jail in New Delhi. Spokesman said that summoning Kashmiris to New Delhi first in the name of questioning and later arresting them in such arbitrary manner is state repression and political vendetta aimed at muzzling the genuine voices of Kashmir.
