Condemns continuous house detention of Geelani

Srinagar, Jun 21 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference Chief Spokesperson on Thursday condemned the policy of repression and suppression against the pro-freedom people, especially the youth in nook and corner of state.
“Incarceration of Ab Qayoom Matto and other eight persons on the eve of Eid festival in Kishtiwaar is unjustified saying it is the worst form of vengeance and against all ethics,” spokesperson said in a statement issued to KNS.
Spokesperson strongly condemned the continuous house detention of its chairman Syed Ali Geelani and putting Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai under house arrest.
He also hailed the people of Kishtiwaar for elegance and their determination with freedom movement.
The spokesperson while expressing his deep concern about gross human rights violations and strangulating freedom expression and denial to right to live with dignity, said that these repressive measures has made the people of state vulnerable to the impunity of the men in uniform.
Meanwhile, according to statement, a delegation comprising of Umar Adil Dar, Ishfaq Ahmad and Ab Rashid visited SKIMS to enquire about the wellbeing of Ab Majid, injured in unprovoked forces shootout.
The statement said that said youth is in ICU in critical condition, battling for life.
The delegation prayed for his early recovery and expressed their solidarity with his family. (KNS)
