Srinagar, Jul 17 (KNS): The residents of Humhama area of Srinagar outskirts Wednesday staged a protest against the water scarcity in their area from last several weeks.

Inhabitants of Humhama as per KNS correspondent assembled at the main chowk here and blocked it to press for their demands amid raising slogans in favour of justice.

The residents told KNS that they are facing hardships in absence of adequate water since long. “We went from pillar to post to seek justice but unfortunately nothing has been done in this regard,” the residents said.

They said the water supply in their area has got affected from last several weeks following which many assurances were made with them but all in vein. “We once again appeal the concerned department to look into the matter at an earliest so that our sufferings will come to an end,” they added.

The residents later approached to Chief Engineer Public Health Engineering (PHE) who assured them that water will be supplied to them through water tanks on regular basis till the issue is resolved. (KNS)
