Srinagar, Mar 11 (KNS): The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Monday said Election Commission should announce the schedule for the assembly election simultaneously with Lok Sabha polls.
In a statement issued to KNS, CPI (M) said, “It is perplexing how the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir is good for the conduct of the Lok Sabha elections and not for the assembly elections which are also due. Currently, Jammu & Kashmir is under central rule as its assembly is dissolved.”
Earlier, the Union Home Minister had assured the people of Jammu & Kashmir that assembly elections will also be held. All the non-BJP political parties in J&K in their meeting with the full election commission when it visited the state appealed for the holding of simultaneous election, the statement added.
It added that Election Commission should seriously consider this issue and announce the schedule for the assembly election simultaneously. (KNS)
