Srinagar, Jan 15 (KNS): Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Monday paid tributes to its former operational commander, Ghulam Rasool Dar alias Gazi Naseer-ud-din on his anniversary.
In an e-mailed statement issued to KNS, the Hizb spokesman, Saleem Hashmi quoted the outfit chief, Syed Salah-ud-din as appreciating the role of Dar. “Dar was an unparalleled commander. He was very religious person and sacrificed his life for the Islam and freedom struggle,” he said.
According to the statement, Hizb chief while speaking at Command Council meet said, “Dar was religious since from his childhood and followed the path of Islam till his death.”
He also said that Dar along with Abid Hussain were killed by forces on Jan 16, 2004.
“The sacrifices of the militants will be respected and the ongoing freedom movement will be taken to its logical conclusion,” he said. (KNS)
