A body of missing cop of Handwara was found in outskirts of Srinagar on Friday evening.

Reports said that the cop was missing from December 27 and his family registered a missing report in Police post Chogal on 31 December and police started investigation.

During investigation sources said police detained two persons in this regard and during interrogation the duo admitted killing the deceased cop in Srinagar.

 The body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites after completing legal and medico formalities.

The deceased police man has been identified as Abdul Rashid Hajam son of Abdul Ahad Hajam resident of Maidan Chogal Handwara, and was working in police department as follower, presently posted at DPL Kupwara.
