Halmatpora NTPHC lies defunct sans doctors

 Kupwara, Jan 22 (KNS): Residents of Halmatpora in border District Kupwara in north Kashmir on Wednesday complained that the area has been deprived of basic facilities.

 
The aggrieved resident said that in absence of doctors at NTPHC centre Hatmullla patients care is being hit  in the border area ,
 
They added that they appealed the concerned authorities several times to depute a doctors at the health centre but so far no doctor has been deputed by the department.
 
They said that they have to travel more than 10 kilometres to reach district Headquarters Kupwara for treatment.
 
“Some years before, a doctor was posted here, but due to unknown reasons, he was transferred and no one was posted at his place,” they said.
 
The residents said the NTPHC centre is equal to sub district Hospital but their health centre has been put on mercy of GOD by the health department.
 
However when KNS tried to contact the Chief Medical officer (CMO) and Block Medical Officer (BMO) Kupwara,  the could not be reached as the phone of the both the officials were switched off.
