Castigates Govt for failure to check road accidents

Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNS): Chairman PDF Hakeem Yaseen has expressed his grief and shock over the fatal road accident in Ujhan Rajouri today in which 6 passengers have died instantly besides serious injuries to 2 persons. He has castigated the government for its utter failure to check growing road accidents in various parts of the state.

In a statement to issued to KNS, Hakeem Yaseen while expressing his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families, Hakeem Yaseen has hold the government machinery entirely responsible for growing road accidents. He said that the concerned traffic and transport departments do not perform their legitimate duty with dedication and sense of responsibility.

“When every time guilty officers and drivers go scot, how could discipline and accountability is imbibed in the system,” Hakeem Yaseen blamed adding that there was need to improve the functioning of the traffic and transport departments and to make them transparent and accountable. This was primarily necessary to check the frequency of road accidents especially in the hilly areas, Hakeem Yaseen added.
