HM Amit Shah reviews J&K situation

Srinagar, Jan 18 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting on the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss development matters and security situation.
 
Sources told KNS that the meeting was attended by host of the top officials of the MHA, especially those looking after the affairs of new Union Territory Jammu and Kashmir.
 
“The meeting was called to review the security situation and other important issues of Jammu and Kashmir,” an official said.
 
He said that the home minister was satisfied over the situation of the Jammu and Kashmir.
 
According to sources, senior officers of Home Ministry, gave detailed briefing to the Union Home Minister on the internal security as well as the situation prevailing along the borders.
 
One of the top officials said that the Home minister was satisfied with the progress of "Operation launched against militants by security forces in Kashmir in which number of militants including top commanders have been killed on hinterland while series of infiltration attempts have been foiled on the borders”.
 
Sources said that Home Minister also took a review of various developmental projects.
 
The home minister took stock of the situation and was briefed about the steps taken to maintain peace along border areas as well as in the Valley, a security official added. (KNS)
