Srinagar, Nov 09 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan has assured to waive of the KCC loans to the farmers who have suffered immense loss due to the recent and untimely snowfall in the Valley.
A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society (JKCS) had called on Khan on Thursday and discussed various issues with him.
Divisional commissioner assured the delegation that Governor, Satya Pal Malik, Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam and the rest of the administration is very keen in waiving off the KCC loan in favour of farmers.
The delegation presented a memorandum for compensation for the damage caused by unexpected snowfall in the valley, waiving off the KCC and other related loans in favour of the sufferers especially the people related to horticulture and saffron cultivation, restoration of power and water supply to far-flung areas and stop earth filling of agricultural lands in the peripheral areas of Srinagar city.
JK civil society thanked Governor, Chief Secretary and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir for monitoring the situation in person.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir assured the delegation an immediate and early redressal of all the problems presented through the memorandum of the JK civil Society.
He has assured the delegation that Governor of the state, Chief Secretary and the administration is very keen in waiving off the KCC loan in favour of farmers, the delegations told KNS.
The delegation comprised of Muhammad Altaf Zadoora, GM Humdard, Mohd Suliman Senior Vice Chairman, Hakeem Showkat Chief organisr, Gh Nabi prengi, Naseema Khan, Mir Ab Rashid etc. (KNS)
