Srinagar, Sep 21 (KNS): An encounter broke out between militants and government forces in charer Shareef area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Monday evening.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service said Joint team of Army, CRPF and Police launched Cardon and search operation (CASO) in the area following the inputs presence of militants in the area.
An official said as the joint forces encircled the suspected spot the militants hiding there started indiscriminate fire which however was retaliated.
He said all entry and exit points leading to the gunfight site were sealed and further consignment of forces has been called on to the spot.
Meanwhile the exchange of fire was going on when this report was filled (KNS)
