Kupwara, Feb 12 (KNS): A gunfight erupts between militants and forces in Marsari, Chowkibal area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday afternoon.
Police said that that three to four militants are believed to be trapped in the firefight that began Friday afternoon in the district.
SSP Kupwara, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat told KNS that heavy exchange of fire is going on since afternoon between the militants and joint teams of army and SOG.”
He said that additional reinforcements are being deployed in the area to prevent the militants from escaping.
Police sources informed that militants are hiding in the house of Ghulam Muhammad Wani, son of Ablee Wani of Chowkibal.
The fierce gunfight between militants and forces was going on till the last reports came in. (KNS)
