Various leaders condole his demise

Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Grand Mufti, Mufti Bashir-ud-Din passed away on Tuesday morning.
His family told KNS that he was admitted at SKIMS hospital where breathed his last at around 03:00 am in the night.
Mufti Bashir’s funeral was held at 3:30 pm at Khanqah e Moula, Srinagar. The funeral prayer was led by his son Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam. Mufti Nasir while talking to KNS said that the congregational Fateha Khawani of late Mufti Bashir-ud-Din will be held on Friday at 2:45pm at their ancestral graveyard in Maharaj Gunj.
Meanwhile, the demise of Mufti Bashir was widely condoled.
National Conference Vice President and former JK chief minister, Omar Abdullah extended condolences with the bereaved family.
"May Allah grant heaven to Mufti Bashir-ud-Din. My condolences to the family at this time of great personal loss," Omar tweeted.
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and said “Kashmir has lost a respected religious scholar ad thought leader in him.”
"Sad to learn about passing away of Mufti Bashiruddin saheb. In him Kashmir lost a respected religious scholar and thought leader... Stand in solidarity with the family and followers of Mufti saheb," Mehbooba tweeted.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) also condoled the passing away of Grand Mufti Mufti Bashir U Din, who breathed his last today morning and conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family.
Congress described Grand Mufti as ‘an illustrious son of the soil’, who has contributed immensely to the religious education, he will always be remembered for his head and heart qualities.
JKPCC President, Ghulam Ahmad Mir expressed profound grief over the passing away of Grand Mufti, describing his demise as a great loss to the State and people as well.
Mir conveyed deepest condolences to bereaved family of Grand Mufti and sympathized with them, he also prayed for eternal peace to departed soul.
CPI (M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has condoled the demise of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Bashir-ud-Din, who passed away on Tuesday.
Mufti Bashir-ud-Din was a social and religious leader and in his death, Kashmir has lost a great human being, Tarigami said while expressing sympathies with the bereaved family.
Condoling the demise of Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir Bashir-ud-Din, JKPCC Vice President and former MLC G N Monga also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
In a condolence message, Monga said in Mufti Bashir-ud-Din sahib’s death Kashmir has lost a great religious scholar. “His death has created a void which is difficult to fill,” he said.
Chairman of Peoples Democratic Front (PDF), Hakeem Yaseen also expressed grief and sorrow over his demise.
Hakeem highlighted the contribution of the Grand Mufi in preaching religious education in the state, adding that he always remained apolitical and uncontroversial while teaching Islam with focus on strengthening moral value in the society.
“In his demise, the state has lost a noble, pious and a highly educated religious scholar, which has creating a void which is difficult to be filled,” he added.
All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), Jagmohan Singh Raina also expressed grief over the demise of Grand Mufti, Bashir-ud-din, who breathed his last today.
Raina in a statement issued to KNS said that Mufti Bashir was a great religious cleric who will be remembered for his work.
He prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul and also for the courage to the bereaved family. He also expressed sympathies with the bereaved family. (KNS)
