Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): The government Friday announced winter vacation in the Kashmir valley, which will begin in all the schools, govt and private of the valley in the first week of December.
As per an order issued by Secretary Education Farooq Ahmad Shah today, the winter vacation will begin from December 4 upto Class 8 and from December 9 from Class 9 upto higher secondary level.
“The last working day of Classes upto 8th standard shall be December 2 and the winter vacation shall be observed from December 4 to March 3. And from 9th standard onwards, the last shall be December 9 and vacation will be observed from 11 December to 12 to February 24,” the order said.
The order said that the practical exams and training of teachers will go as per schedule and the teachers on practical exam duty will observe the vacation after conclusion of the exams.
“The teachers shall resume duties from February 23 for making arrangements for reopening of schools,” it said. (KNS)
