Srinagar, Jun 22 (KNS): though Governor N N Vohra in his first dose of transfers in the higher echelons of bureaucracy left additional charge syndrome unaddressed as junior officers continue to hold the charge of key departments as Administrative Secretaries of many departments but repatriation of several top IAS officers from central deputation is on cards.
Well-placed sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that Governor N N Vohra leaving additional charge syndrome unaddressed in the higher echelons of the bureaucracy has upset many senior IAS officers of J&K cadre.
It is place to mention here that Sheetal Nanda a junior IAS officer of the Special Secretary grade presently holding the charge of Administrative Secretary Rural Development Department has been left untouched in the first dose of transfers. Similarly Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad KAS officer recently given the charge of Administrative Secretary Science and Technology department has also not been touched and another junior officer Asif Hameed Khan is also holding the additional charge as Secretary Social Welfare department. Muhammad Javiad Khan Secretary Youth Service and Sports holding the additional charge as Administrative Secretary Higher Education department is yet to be relieved of the responsibility as Secretary higher education. It is in place to mention here that M Raju a senior IAS officer is also holding additional charge as administrative Secretary Transport department.
Sources have also revealed that Governor N N Vohra is contemplating moves to recall several top IAS officers of J&K cadre from central deputation to utilize their services on key positions in Jammu and Kashmir government. The Viohrta administration is also working on a proposal for shifting most of the Deputy Commissioners and IAS officers of junior grade are likely to be posted as DCs in bigger districts like Baramulla, Anantnag, Doda, and Ramban.
The replacement of Directors of several key departments by IAS officers of J&K cadre is also under the active consideration of Vohra administration. (KNS)
