Handwara September 06:(KNS)On Sunday a thrilling final cricket match of Ganapora Premier League (GPL)  held at Langate (Ganapora sports field) The final played started at 11 Oclock between the, BCC Supernaghama Vs with Baramulla Blasters.
Baramulla captain won the toss and decided to bat first. After shaky, openers and top order felt cheaply later on the middle order and lower middle order batsmen did well to resist against the home side pace armory. Zahoor XOLO quick fired 78 lit up the stadium. His blistering knock assured Blasters a mammoth 193 total is achieved.
In reply BCC Supernaghama openers thrown away their wickets to bad balls. With the passage of time the middle order batsmen laid the solid foundation along to set froth the vision of reaching the much awaited destiny of 194.
In view of the pandemic, a limited number of locals of the area, with strict social distancing and Covid19 SOP, were allowed to visit the beautiful Ganapora Sports field, which is atop a hillock surrounded by apple orchards, to enjoy the matches of the tournament. The video recording of the match was prepared and provided to the cricket lovers.
During the post match presentation Naseer Ahmad was adjudged as man of the match while Owais Ahmad was declared man of the tournament for his 300 plus runs and 13 Scalps. The well known voice of kashmir in commentary Tanveer Ahmad presented the live commentary.
This was the first sports event this year in the area during which players as well as the spectators followed the Covid19 guidelines as prescribed by the authorities. Since Ganapora playground is spacious, maintaining social distance was easier for the players and spectators.(KNS)
