Srinagar, May 16 (KNS): Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir has welcomed the unilateral ceasefire announced by New Delhi on Wednesday in Kashmir.
Terming the decision a great move for confidence building in Kashmir, Mir said that the demand from political parties and the issue raised by CM for unilateral ceasefire during Ramzan month would be great initiative for confidence building. There has been militancy since 1989 and the militancy still there. This unilateral cease fire will go a long way in the initiation of confidence between the people of J&K and Govt of India. There is need that Govt of India should take proactive steps to reduce down the alienation .I welcome the cease fire announcement on behalf of the party and hope it is implemented in letter and spirit further I hope the militants will respond positively.
