Free aides worth Rupees ten lakhs provided to 200 specially abled children

DSEK attends the function organized by CEO Srinagar

Srinagar, Jul 17 (KNS): Chief Education Officer Srinagar today organized a Free Distribution cum fitment camp under SSA in the premises of Zonal Education Office, Rainawari during which more than 200 specially-abled children were provided with free aids worth Rs 10.00 lakh. Director School Education Kashmir Dr. G.N. Itoo was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
In his address he said that the Department is at forefront in providing quality Education to these special children and the Government is going to established one residential school each in Srinagar and Jammu for them in which they will be provided with quality education as well as residential facilities.
He said that these children are an important part of our society and it is our duty to help them. He deliberated upon all the concerned to implement these schemes on ground level in letter and spirit for the benefit of these children.
During the function these specially-abled children were provided with wheelchairs, smart can, smart phone, daisy player, MR kit, ADL kit, Hearing aids, braille kit and other aids.
On the occasion the parents of these specially-abled children while expressing satisfaction over these types of events, asked for more facilities to be provided to them. In his welcome address Joint Director Central Abid Hussain said that it is a matter of great pride and pleasure for us to help and guide these special children.
State Coordinator SSA TR Mangotra also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various aspects of this component of SSA. Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Mudasir Kaleem Fazili while presenting the vote of thanks appreciated the work done by SSA wing of his office. The function was hosted by Media Coordinator School Education, Fayyaz Ahmad Fayyaz.
It is pertinent to mention here that a total of about 800 specially-abled children are enrolled in the Government schools of District Srinagar and among them more than 200 children were provided with these free aids during the function. (KNS)
