Footballers join hands to form NIFF

Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNS):  A group of national and international footballers of J&K have come together in one voice and formed the National and International Football Forum (NIFF).

The Forum in today's press release clearly states that seeing the downfall of football in J&K over the years it has now become a matter of concern for every person associated with game to raise their voice loud & clear on where the football of J&K is heading.

In  a statement to KNS, It is a serious issue where we need to come together and show concern to save this beautiful game. We will surely not leave any stone unturned to safeguard the game of football as today whatever little we the members of the Forum have achieved is because of this game. We will not allow any kind of wrong doings anymore which has brought a bad name to J&K Football.
The time has come where we all need to come open and take collective steps to deal with the damages caused, disinterest among the youth and downfall in the game and to revive the development  initiatives in all parts of J&K.
“To bring the change in the current scenario it is very important to have the right people at right positions that have a vision, plan and execution ability to carry forward the game of football the way it should have been,” said a statement issued to KNS.
We request the authorities to check the facts and take a strong action against the President and other Office Bearers of JKFA on their unconstitutional functioning and illegally holding of chairs for doing nothing. As per the National Sports Code adopted by all Sports Bodies and Constitution, no President can hold the Chair for more than 12 years and the maximum age limit is restricted to 70 years and other Office bearers cannot hold chair for more than 8 years. Whereas in current regime of JKFA, people are holding positions from last 16 years and are around 90 years of age and still are not ready to go without doing any justice to the chair.
Our members have been targeted personally, harassed by making character assignations and even alleged with many baseless allegations by the present regime of JKFA trying to deprive them at many corners but that doesn't stop us speaking truth against their mismanagement, poor organisation, lack of plans, favouritism, nepotism, arrogant approach towards players and coaches which has affected the game badly.
Moreover organising matches and tournaments is the responsibility of any Association but that is only one part of it. Its good for the teams to play matches, the more they play the more they learn. But playing 2-3 matches in a tournament is not going to suffice. Our players hardly get 5-8 matches in a entire season to play. Current Championship has 47 matches in fixture that too will last for 8-10 days. J&K is a potential place for football where 4700 matches is a minimum number to organise in one calendar year. But the fact is JKFA is far away from that reality. By organising few tournaments in a full calendar year that too are Srinagar and Jammu centric and other Districts have always been ignored, With these few tournaments which is anyway never sufficient to make our football grow, JKFA is misleading the authorities and covering their inability of running football in all parts of J&K.
In Current Championship at Jammu we fail to understand that only one team from the districts is allowed to take part, whereas few more selective teams have been included later on denying the participation to many premier division teams both from Srinagar & Jammu. This continuous favouritism and biased approach is killing the game inside out and nobody is questioning their accountability.
The Championship is being sponsored by J&K Sports Council by providing huge financial assistance and all the matches are to be played under the rules and regulations laid by All India Football Federation. But suddenly there is such an ambiguity being created by the organisers in the registration procedure by allowing inclusion 5 players in a team without following any registration procedure leaving less space for local registered players to play and making mockery of regulations. No CRS, Loan or transfer process is being adhered. It is astonishing to say that Registered Championship is being played in an unregistered manner. Thus all efforts and money going in to the vain.
By organising few tournaments in a calendar year, JKFA pretend as if the game is going good and smooth which is far away from reality. Such events are planned to divert people's attention from the root cause. Our results in National Championships in all age groups for the last five years explains the rest.
There are many other reasons as well which is damaging the game very badly and before it may get too late we request the authorities to take the appropriate measures and dissolve this Association immediately and appoint ad-hoc committee as early as possible. That is the only way left to save the game till Govt will announce the dates of fresh election.9(KNS).
