Fisheries department organizes three day awareness camp at Anantnag

 Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNS): To promote fish cultivation  and to provide technical know-how to the fish farmers, the Department of Fisheries organized a three day training programme in South Kashmir's Ananthnag district in which morethan 50 farmers participated.

 
The programme was inaugurated by Joint Director Fisheries Kashmir Division Bashir Ahmed Bhat.
 
The event was organised to spread awareness regarding the latest techniques being adopted in Govt sector for producing quality fish seed in carp sector.
 
Talking to KNS project officer RFFDA M. Ashraf told that the traing programme was organised by regional fish farmers development agency Kashmir and during the three day training programme both theoretical and practical sessions were conducted under the supervision of resource persons of the department. He said that training programme was imparted to the participants regarding composite fish culture, Induced breeding , Nursery pond management, rearing of fish seed , harvesting and transportation of fish seed.
 
The officer further said that on the concluding day certificates were distributed among the participants.
 
The other senior officers who attended the training programme including deputy director central Ghulam Mahiddin , senior project officer feed mill Mansbal M Aslam , senior project officer NFS farm Manasbal Miss Nahida.
 
This training programme is being organised under the aegis of Centrally Sponsored Scheme ATMA and fish farmers and entrepreneurs were provided training on fish culture and its economics by the department in these training programmes.
