Anantnag, Nov 20 (KNS): At least 15 shops and four residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in Cheeni Chowk area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday.
The blaze broke out at around 3:30 am and quickly spread to adjacent shops and residential houses, sources said, according to the KNS correspondent, Tassaduq Hussain.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out after two hours, a police official said.
The official said that the loss suffered due to the blaze is being ascertained.
“There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is being investigated,” he said. (KNS)
